The royal journey on wheels. Over the years, the urge to travel in a heritage style train in royal style has increased rapidly. Having a train coach and enjoying the royal life in it creates a different experience in itself. This experience is similar to the royal life of the kings and queens of Rajasthan in ancient times. 

      Royal furniture and host inside the train. All these make the tourists experience a royal style. Royal rail has become increasingly popular in Rajasthan, especially in Jodhpur, Jaisalmer, Sawai Madhopur, Bikaner, Fatehpur Sikri, Agra, Udaipur etc. Rajasthan has a craze for the Palace on Wheels and the Maharaja Express is also attracting tourists. Advance booking is available in these trains. Maharaja Express was awarded the 'The World Travel Award' in 2012. The route of Maharaja Express also includes Bikaner. The tourists coming to this train in Bikaner called the land of Sand dunes dhores and camels are welcomed with Rajasthani tradition. Tourists are welcomed in traditional costumes with robellas and Rajasthani instruments, making all tourists feel proud.  All the tourists coming to Bikaner visit many historical sites including Junagadh, Gajner Palace.

This is the royal train route in India, the Maharaja Express runs between Mumbai to Delhi and stops at about a dozen tourist and historical sites.

The royal train reaches Delhi from Mumbai and Mumbai from Delhi. Meanwhile, it continues to stay at several places of tourist importance including Mumbai, Ajanta Ahmedabad, Udaipur, Jodhpur, Sawai Madhopur, Bikaner, Fatehpur Sikri, Agra. In the heritage group, separate groups have been made in Maharaja Express for Bikaner tourists. These include Heritage of India, Treasures of India, Gems of India, India Panorama. Bikaner's name is included in the heritage group. This group includes Mumbai, Ajanta, Udaipur, Jodhpur, Bikaner, Jaipur, Ranthambore, Agra and Delhi. The heritage group of royal trains running in northwestern and central India includes 7 nights and 8 days. 

      Although all the groups of Maharaja Express are becoming popular, but foreign tourists are choosing the group according to their choice. For example, many tourists choose Heritage Group, there are many who give priority to Indian Penarama Group. This group includes Jaipur, Ranthambore, Fatehpur Sikri, Agra, Gwalior, Khajuraho, Varanasi, Lucknow and Delhi from Delhi. The train is operated by IRCTC and through the company.

पर्यटकों में इन वर्षों में शाही अंदाज में हैरिटेज स्टाइल की रेलगाड़ी में सफर करने की ललक तेजी से बढ़ी है। रेल का डिब्बा हो और उसमें शाही जीवन का आनंद लेना अपने आप में एक अलग अनुभव करवाता है। यह अनुभव ठीक वैसा ही है जैसा कि प्राचीन समय में राजस्थान के राजा-रानियों का शाही जीवन था। रेलगाड़ी के अन्दर शाही फर्नीचर और मेजबानी। यह सब सैलानियों को एक शाही अन्दाज का अनुभव करवाते हैं। राजस्थान में खासकर जोधपुर, जैसलमेर, सवाई माधोपुर, बीकानेर, फतेहपुर सीकरी, आगरा, उदयपुर आदि में शाही रेल तेजी से लोकप्रिय हुई है। राजस्थान मेंं पैलेस ऑन व्हील्स के प्रति अपनी दीवानगी है और महाराजा एक्सप्रेस भी पर्यटकों को अपनी ओर खींच रही है।

        इन गाडिय़ों में एडवांस बुकिंग रहती है। महाराजा एक्सप्रेस को वर्ष 2012 में 'द वल्र्ड ट्रेवल अवार्ड से नवाजा गया था। महाराजा एक्सप्रेस के रूट में बीकानेर भी शामिल है। धोरों और ऊंटों की धरती कहे जाने वाले बीकानेर में इस ट्रेन में आने वाले सैलानियों का राजस्थानी परम्परा से स्वागत किया जाता है। परम्परागत वेशभूषा में रौबीले और राजस्थानी वाद्ययंत्रों के साथ सैलानियों का स्वागत होता है जिससे सभी पर्यटक अपने आप को गौरान्वित महसूस करते हैं। हालांकि पैलेस ऑन व्हील्स बीकानेर नहीं आती। बीकानेर आने वाले सभी पर्यटक जूनागढ़, गजनेर पैलेस सहित अनेक ऐतिहासिक स्थलों का भ्रमण करते हैं।

         महाराजा एक्सप्रेस मुम्बई से दिल्ली के बीच चलती है और करीब एक दर्जन पर्यटक एवं ऐतिहासिक स्थलों पर ठहरती है। शाही गाड़ी मुम्बई से दिल्ली तथा दिल्ली से मुम्बई पहुंचती है। इस बीच यह मुम्बई,अजन्ता अहमदाबाद, उदयपुर, जोधपुर, सवाई माधोपुर, बीकानेर, फतेहपुर सीकरी, आगरा सहित अनेक पर्यटन महत्व के स्थानों पर ठहरती हुई जाती है।

हैरिटेज गु्रप में बीकानेर

पर्यटकों के लिए महाराजा एक्सप्रेस में अलग-अलग गु्रप बनाए गए हैं। इनमें हैरिटेज ऑफ इण्डिया, ट्रेजर्स ऑफ इण्डिया, जेम्स ऑफ इण्डिया, इण्डिया पेनोरमा शामिल हैं। बीकानेर का नाम हैरिटेज गु्रप में शामिल है। इस गु्रप में मुम्बई, अजन्ता, उदयपुर, जोधपुर, बीकानेर, जयपुर, रणथम्भौर, आगरा व दिल्ली शामिल है। उत्तर-पश्चिमी एवं मध्य भारत में चलने वाली शाही गाड़ी के हैरिटेज गु्रप में 7 रातें व 8 दिन शामिल हैं। हालांकि महाराजा एक्सप्रेस के सभी गु्रप लोकप्रिय हो रहे हैं लेकिन विदेशी सैलानी अपनी पसन्द के अनुसार ही गु्रप का चयन कर रहे हैं। मसलन अनेक पर्यटक हैरिटेज गु्रप का चयन करते हैं तो अनेक ऐसे भी हैं जो इण्डियन पेनारमा गु्रप को प्राथमिकता देते हैं। इस गु्रप में दिल्ली से जयपुर, रणथम्भौर, फतेहपुर सीकरी, आगरा, ग्वालियर, खजुराहो, वाराणसी, लखनऊ व दिल्ली शामिल हैं। आईआरसीटीसी एवं कम्पनी के माध्यम की ओर से यह गाड़ी संचालित की जाती है।
